Drexel African Students Association(DASA) founded on October 09, 1995 is a student-run organization in
Drexel University. Our group is involved in the organization of cultural, social and academic events for the African community at
Drexel University. We are open to all full time undergraduate students regardless of race, religion, national origin, gender and ability.
DASA strives to create a home away from home for Drexel's African student body by supporting our members both socially and
academically.We provide an engaging forum for all members in Drexel University.Founded and Recognized by Drexel University in 1995, DASA started with 35 members with VALENTINE OBIDI as the "Inaugural President".Today DASA has a total of 205 active members with 27% non-African memebers.As at the time of this report - 155 members are on DASA facebook group while it is possible that 50 other members are not using facebook.This statistical data report changes periodically.

Our Authority
The constitution is amendable once every 2yrs based on its necessity. This written constitution is properly sealed by the Adviser and President. This constitution established the rules and principles of Drexel African Students Association in Drexel University. It outlined the structures, procedures, powers and duties of the executive board and General Body of this organization. This law is observed by every individual belonging to this organization and on it this organization stand.

We participate in Drexel University new students' orientation. During this period, we recruit new members and the same time uses the opportunity to market DASA. The marketing comprises the display of African Culture symbols in form of art work and explanation of what we do on campus. We also engage in community services during which we independently or collaborate with other organizations within and outside Drexel University campuses to render services to the community. The Leadership Team of DASA urges members to participate in the CEO workshop which is designed to build Personal Leadership skills for individual benefits. Skills acquired in this workshop helps members during their coop and in class projects. We organize study group to help members study together in order to be academically equipped. We also have several social events organized annually to bring members together.
